Annette Delores Cheatham

AIKEN, SC – “O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You have healed me…” On the early morning hours of Thursday, June 28, 2012, while in her bed at home asleep, our God visited and quietly whispered into the ears of our always devoted and loving Mom, dedicated Sister, devoted Cousin, loyal Friend and believing Child of God, Annette D. Cheatham, and removed her from our visual presence. She was 59 years of age and a life-long resident of 1599 Wire Road, Aiken, S.C.

Ms. Cheatham, was a former CCC Lab Procter at Aiken High School, Aiken, S.C. and a Tax Preparer with many years of service to her numerous clients in the CSRA.

She was a member of Crown Christian Church International, North Augusta, S.C., under the pastorate of Dr. Bishop Finace Bush, Jr., of which she attended faithfully and joyfully praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ms. Cheatham was truly loved her family and believed in family togetherness. She was the knit that kept her family together and she believed and often discussed with her family that her life was not too much to sacrifice to God.

Through her illness, many doctor’s visits and numerous hospital stays she remained joyful, strong and determined to love and serve our Lord and never once complained but always told her family that she was thankful and that she loved and appreciated them.

She enjoyed shopping, sight-seeing, laughing and joking with her family at home, family picnics, vacationing to Florida annually and to any other destination that her family desired to go. She was always in their midst and will forever be.

The Funeral Service Honoring one we loved so dearly will be held at 11am, Friday, July 6, 2012, at the Crown Christian Church International, 720 Edgefield Hwy., North Augusta, S.C., with Dr. Bishop Finace Bush Jr., Pastor/Officiating. The Interment will follow at the H.G. Cheatham, Sr. Memorial Gardens, Wire Road, Aiken, S.C.

Ms. Cheatham was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Bernice Ealey Cheatham, two brothers, Horace G. Cheatham, Sr. and Larry D. Cheatham, one sister, Rosemary Cheatham and one nephew, Audous D. Cheatham.

Her memories of untiring love and dedication will be fondly remembered and forever cherished by her humbled and gracious survivors: One loving and dedicated son, Malcolm Gardner, of the home, two loving sisters, Donna M. Cheatham, ( her untiring and nurturing care-giver), Aiken, SC, and Edith “Edie” C. Walls, Columbus , Oh., two brothers, Johnny E. Cheatham, Warrenville, S.C. and Richard D. (Catherine) Cheatham, Aiken, S.C.; one loyal and faithful niece, Angela P. Cheatham (her “Bestie” and “Forever Friend” ) and two nephews, Horace G. Cheatham, Jr. and Douglas Cheatham,( all three of whom she raised, loved, protected and prayed for as her own children), all of Aiken, S.C.; several other loving nieces and nephews, one loving great niece, Kaitlyn P. Cheatham, (that she called her ” Best Friend Forever” and always told her, “You have two mothers, Your mom and I,” and she showed her love to her daily ), Aiken, S.C.; several other loving great nieces and nephews; two special cousins, Rev. Willie L. Spann and Mary L. Childs, both of Aiken, S.C., several additional loyal extended relatives and caring friends in the community.

The family will be receiving friends from 6 until 8pm, Thursday at Crown Christian Church International.

A special thanks to the doctors that cared for her deligently over the course of her illness : Dr. Gerald Oliver, Dr. Francis DiBona, Dr. Nicholas Sanito and Dr. Ansermo Arthur all of Aiken, S.C. and to the 5th floor nurses and staff at Georgia Health Sciences, Augusta, Ga. and Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Aiken, S.C. and to Aiken County EMS for always being so compassionate and caring to her.

To our family and friends: For all these many blessings, We, The Cheatham Family, says thank you and we love and appreciate you all, as we know that she does also. For as long as we have life, we will always love and cherish her. “Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.” For she now has been set free…
