Meerhis Burrows Hollows

TAVARES, FL. – Meerhis Lynn B. Hollows, 53, of Tavares, beloved wife of Raymond Leon Hollows, went home to be with our Lord, October 20, 2005. She is preceded by her loving father, Edward E. Burrows, Jr. She and her husband were originally from Aiken, S.C. She worked many years at Kathryn’s Dress Shop and H&R Block in Augusta and North Augusta. She always had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by all that knew her. She is survived by her loving mother, Doris T. Burrows, cousins, mother-in-law, Marjorie Hollows; three sisters-in-law and spouses, two brothers-in-law and spouses.

On February 23, 1888, the Aiken Institute was incorporated by an act of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina. The school opened its doors as a high school on September 17, 1888.
