AIKEN, SC – Randy Dale Watson, M.D., age 63, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.
Dr. Watson was born August 18, 1953 in Royston, GA to the late Derl and Jimmie Watson. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Carolina in 1974 and Medical Degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1978. Dr. Watson completed his internship and residency in Shreveport, LA and returned to Aiken, SC to be near his family. In Aiken, he practiced as an Internal Medicine Physician for 34 years and as the Chief of Staff and on the Board of Trustees for Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He will be remembered for his passion for his family and his patients.
In addition to his parents, Dr. Watson was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Watson Squires and Donna Watson Gilmore.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Catherine “Kay” Watson; a son, Kelly Robert Watson (Veronica), Columbia, SC; a daughter, Kimberly Watson Coffin (Matthew), Aiken, SC; two grandchildren, Benjamin Coffin and Caroline Watson; and two sisters, Deborah Davis (Charles), N. Augusta, SC and Terri Garris (Louis), Aiken, SC.
Friends may call on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at George Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Millbrook Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
