Sandra Dixon Hayes (Sandy)

AIKEN, SC—Sandra “Sandy” D. Hayes, age 65, entered into rest Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Aiken Regional Medical Center.

Sandy was born February 1, 1953 in Charleston, SC to the late Charles L. Dixon and the late Margie Hartzog Dixon. She was a 1971 graduate of Aiken High School and attended USCA. Sandy worked as a paralegal at Johnson, Johnson, Whittle, Lancer Law Office for many years; a job she lived for. She took her clients in as family. Additionally, she was very family oriented and loved the time spent with family and friends. She was a long-time member of Millbrook Baptist Church and loved going to the lake and fishing.

Known by many as a wonderful, loving, caring wife and mother, grandmother, friend, and co-worker, Sandy never met a stranger and was able to express kindness, love, and respect to all.

Sandy is survived by her beloved husband of thirty-eight years, Claude David Hayes; two sons, Nick Hayes (Brenda), Hartsville, SC and Dave Hayes (Suzanne), Aiken, SC; and five grandchildren, Angela, Nicole, Hunter, Charles, and Katherine Hayes.

Friends may call on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 3, 2018 in the George Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Farina officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Warneke, Kevin Lucas, Dale Mayes, Bob Patterson, Brandon Pattillo, and Billy Ward. Joey Barsh will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
