Dyanna Myers Bey (Diane Myers)

AIKEN, SC – DYANNA MYERS BEY, 68, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at her residence.

A native and life-long resident of Aiken County, Dyanna was a daughter of the late Lartee, Sr. and Willie Eva Danforth Myers.  She was a registered nurse and worked 30 plus years at University Hospital and Medical College of Georgia. She was a member of the Moorish Science Temple of America.

Survivors include two sons, Ravanna Bey (Shelly), Los Angeles, CA, Justice Bey (Crystal), Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter, Purity Bey Cummings, Aiken; five grandchildren, Joshua Bey, Aaron Bey, Khiree Cummings, Marianna Cummings, Micah Rouse; a great-grandson, Joshua Bey, Jr.; three sisters, Doris Young, Williston, Emily Hickson, Aiken, Beatrice Myers, Philadelphia; two brothers, Lartee Myers, Jr. (Cheryl), Aiken, Jackie Myers (Diane), Augusta; a sister-in-law, Margaret Myers, Texas; two goddaughters, Shantee El, Zorayda El and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  In addition to her parents, Dyanna was preceded in death by a brother, James Myers and a goddaughter, Fibilah EL.

No service is planned at this time.

Steve Stapleton

AIKEN, SC – STEPHEN WAYNE STAPLETON, 69, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 in Springfield, MO.

A native and life-long resident of Aiken, Stephen was a son of the late James H., Sr. and Aileen Humphries Stapleton.  He was a retired salesman and worked in the parts department of several car dealerships in the Aiken area.  He loved to dance and especially enjoyed line dancing until his health no longer allowed him to do so.  He was a former member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Surviving are his three children, Robin Russell (Chip), Lexington, Cheryl Spillman (Matthew), Springfield, MO, Brandon Stapleton, Aiken; ten grandchildren, Kylie St. Germaine, Misty St. Germaine, Bryan St. Germain, C. J. Russell, Adalynn Russell, Ashton Russell, Bobby Hilton, Kayla Hilton, Dameon Townsend, Kinson Spillman; three siblings, Joe Littlejohn (Linda), Union, SC, Jimmy Stapleton (Emma), Leesville, SC, Candy Hayes (Bobby), Aiken.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Stapleton.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, May 27th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held Friday morning, May 28th at 11 o’clock at the funeral home with The Rev. Marion Britton officiating.  Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Kyle Hayes, Jason Stapleton, Joel Stapleton, Jamie Stapleton, Lewis Mitchell, Mike Mitchell and Dale Mitchell.

NORTH AUGUSTA – Retired Fire Captain James C. “Jim Bob” Busbee, Jr, 68, widower of the late Michelle Robinson Busbee, of North Augusta, S.C. passed away February 11, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center following an illness.
Born in Oakland, CA on January 8, 1953, he was the son of Mrs. Roseanne Hubbard Cooper of Aiken and the late retired Director of Aiken Department of Public Safety, James C. Busbee, Sr. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Aiken, SC where he would live the remainder of his life. Following in the footsteps of his father, Mr. Busbee also served with distinction the community of Augusta, GA and retired as Fire Captain with the Augusta-Richmond Fire and Rescue Department. In addition, he also worked with Gold Cross Ambulance Service for over 20 years.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his son, James Clinton Busbee, of Aiken, SC; a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence Steve & Debbie Busbee of Aiken; and 2 granddaughters, Brittany Noel Busbee and Haven Nicole Busbee both of Aiken. Mr. Busbee is also survived by

Scotty Bolt

Mr. Scotty Bolt, 67, of Aiken, SC, husband of Janis Jenkins Bolt, entered into rest in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.      Born in Anderson County, SC, a son of the late Carl Henderson “Red” and Melba Shearer Bolt, he had been a resident of Aiken County, SC, most of his life. He graduated from Aiken High School and retired from SRS after thirty-eight years of service as a Computer Specialist. Brother Bolt was active in DeMolay as a young man, was a member of Aiken Lodge #156, A.F.M. and was a Shriner with the Aiken Shrine Club, where he served as President in 1993. Scotty enjoyed fishing, camping, four wheeling, Clemson football and Harleys. He also formerly coached Aiken Dixie Youth Baseball.      In addition to his wife and parents, family members include sons, Shawn Bolt and his wife, Crystal, Warrenville, SC and B.J. Bolt and his companion, Tamara Key, Beech Island, SC; step-children and their spouses, Del and Suzanna Gregory, Grovetown, GA and Sonya and Ron Terwilliger, Conway, SC; siblings, Rebecca “Becky” Dinkins and her husband, Jack, Lexington, SC; the late Ricky Bolt and the late Tony Bolt, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.      The family will greet friends on Saturday, September 19, 2020, from 6 until 8 o’clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway Graniteville, SC. Private interment will take place in St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery, New Ellenton, SC.         The family has asked that memorials be made to Boy Scouts of America.
