James Ricky Jackson

Mr. James “Ricky” Jackson, age 65, beloved husband to Mrs. Shirley Bodie Jackson, entered into rest on Monday, February 11th, 2019 at his residence with his family by his side.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Melissa Ann (Deany) Mixon, Tonya Jackson (Benjamin) Miller, Rhonda (Eric) DeCosta, Anna Jackson (Harvey, Jr.) Stone; brothers, Donald (Sandra) Jackson, Michael David (Cheryl) Jackson; sister, Sharon Jackson; twenty-one grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Annie Ruth Jackson; and brother, Roger Jackson.

Mr. Jackson was a member of the Aiken County Pool League and attended the Warrenville Church of God, as he was of the Pentecostal faith.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, February 14th, 2019, at 2pm, at the Warrenville Church of God, with Rev. Robert Skelton officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, February 13th, 2019 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

– Mr. Ephraim Albert Ramsey Jr, 65, of 325 Laurens St, entered into rest December 21, 2018 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced.

Mr. Ramsey was a member of Second Baptist Church and a graduate of Aiken High School, Class of 1971.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Primus-Ramsey, Aiken; two daughters, Angela (Lou) Moses, North Augusta & Nola Grant, Aiken; four sons, Keith (Carrie) Ramsey, Columbia, Bradley Allen, Japan, Nolan K. Grant, Aiken, & Victory Grant, Westbury, NY: mother, Ruth Ramsey, Aiken; four sisters, Sally Martin, Clearwater, Estella R. Williams, Augusta, Jean (William) Pope, Schertz, TX, & Mildred (Greg) Aiken, Columbia; one brother, Albert (Mary) Smith, Florence, SC; 4 Grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

Michael “Mike” Joseph Schroder
CONWAY – Michael “Mike” Joseph Schroder, 66, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at Conway Medical Center after a long battle with esophageal cancer. Mike is survived by Marsha Somers Schroder, his loving wife of nearly 45 years. They were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aiken, South Carolina on December 22, 1973.
Mike was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Malcolm Clark Schroder and Violet Bernier Schroder on November 5, 1952. He grew up in Aiken, SC where he attended Aiken High School. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1975 where he was a member of the golf team. Thereafter, he began his life’s work as a Carolina Class A PGA professional, teaching others to not only play, but love the game of golf. Mike was truly one of the pioneers of the golf school business, having directed his own golf schools in the 1980’s and 1990’s before taking some time away from teaching to test his own playing skills on the highest levels. He played successfully on both the PGA and Champions Tours and has helped a tremendous number of young players go on to play top collegiate and professional golf. Among his many accomplishments, Mike won the Carolina’s PGA Section Teacher of the Year in 1996, appeared on the Golf Channel’s Golf Academy Live with Kelly Tilghman and hosted the nationally syndicated Links Illustrated golf instruction program for over 20 years. Mike was named to the Golf Digest list of top instructors in South Carolina, was one of the first to produce instructional videos with his highly successful “Simplify Your Golf” series and had many featured articles in “On the Green Magazine.” Before his passing, Mike was teaching at Steve Dresser Golf Academy at True Blue in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina. Mike also enjoyed fishing. One of his favorite pastimes was watching LSU football with family. He was a man of faith and outstanding teacher to all.
Mike is lovingly remembered by his wife, Marsha; daughter, Lora Jensen and her husband, Rhinehart Jensen; daughter, Melissa Schroder Hocker and her husband, Mike Hocker; daughter, Michelle Morgan and her husband, David Morgan; 8 wonderful grandchildren; brother, Ted Schroder and his wife, Liza Schroder; brother, Ronald Schroder and his wife, Donna Schroder; Uncle, who was much like a brother to him, Bill Bernier and his wife, Carol Bernier; as well as his many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and other friends. Mike was preceded in death by parents, Malcolm Clark Schroder and Violet Bernier Schroder.
Funeral services will be held on December 14, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church located at 1071 Academy Drive, Conway, SC 29526. Family and friends will be received thereafter. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the South Carolina Junior Golf Association.

Sandra Dixon Hayes (Sandy)

AIKEN, SC—Sandra “Sandy” D. Hayes, age 65, entered into rest Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Aiken Regional Medical Center.

Sandy was born February 1, 1953 in Charleston, SC to the late Charles L. Dixon and the late Margie Hartzog Dixon. She was a 1971 graduate of Aiken High School and attended USCA. Sandy worked as a paralegal at Johnson, Johnson, Whittle, Lancer Law Office for many years; a job she lived for. She took her clients in as family. Additionally, she was very family oriented and loved the time spent with family and friends. She was a long-time member of Millbrook Baptist Church and loved going to the lake and fishing.

Known by many as a wonderful, loving, caring wife and mother, grandmother, friend, and co-worker, Sandy never met a stranger and was able to express kindness, love, and respect to all.

Sandy is survived by her beloved husband of thirty-eight years, Claude David Hayes; two sons, Nick Hayes (Brenda), Hartsville, SC and Dave Hayes (Suzanne), Aiken, SC; and five grandchildren, Angela, Nicole, Hunter, Charles, and Katherine Hayes.

Friends may call on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 3, 2018 in the George Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Farina officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Warneke, Kevin Lucas, Dale Mayes, Bob Patterson, Brandon Pattillo, and Billy Ward. Joey Barsh will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
