Laura was born on April 24, 1953 and died on August 11, 1989.
She was a graduate of Columbia College. After her death the Laura Verenes Hampton Scholarship was established in her memory.

Thomas W. Esdorn, 30, 712 Rollingwood Road, died Saturday near Aiken. Graveside services will be conducted today at 4 p.m. in the Leesville Cemetery with the Rev. Robert James officiating.
Mr. Esdorn was a native of Columbia and was a son of Glenn E. and Joyce Shealy Esdorn. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and attended the College of Charleston and USC-Aiken. He was employed by Aiken County as an advanced paramedic and was a coach for the Aiken Little League baseball program.
Survivors include one son, Thomas Christopher Esdorn, Aiken; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn E. Esdorn, Aiken; two sisters, Glennie Tope, Raleigh, N.C., and Vivien Young, San Francisco, Calif.; and one brother, Lt. Henry D. Esdorn, Biloxi, Miss.
The family suggests memorials to St. Mary Help of Christians School or to St. John’s United Methodist Church.
Charles R. Shealy and Sons Funeral Home of Batesburg-Leesville is in charge of arrangements.
