Jacquelin (Jackie) Burns-Brown

CHARLESTON – Funeral ser­vices for Jacquelin (Jackie) Burns-Brown will be held at 3 p.m.  Thursday in Zion Hill Baptist Church, Salley.  The Rev. James E. Reynolds will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Burns-Brown, 42, of 1536 Grimball Road Extension, Charleston, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 1995, in Aiken.

A native of Cambridge, England, Mrs. Burns-Brown was a daughter of Mary L. Schofield-Burns of Ai­ken. She was a registered nurse with the Health South Rehabilita­tion Services in Charleston.  She was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church, Charleston.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her widower, Sammie Leroy Brown; a daughter, Adri­enne M. Smalls-Wildy, Columbus, Ga.; a brother, Robert N. Burns Jr., North Augusta; four sisters, Ann L. Freeman, Denmark, Avaita B. Pinder, Charleston, Evelyn S. Byrd, North Augusta, and Margo B. Heard, Dayton, Ohio; and a grandchild.

Pallbearers will be her brothers-in-law.
Friends may call at the resi­dence of her mother at 569 Pine St., Aiken, or at the funeral home. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Danny McKinney

July 5, 1952 – September 2, 1995

Danny is listed as a member of the Class of 1971, but there is no picture or reference to him in the yearbook.  He attended Schofield prior to his senior year.

Funeral services for Danny Mc­Kinney will be held at 3 p.m. today at Union Baptist Church.  The Rev. Harold Dallas will offi­ciate. Burial will be in Mine Creek Baptist Church in Saluda County.

Mr. McKinney, 43, resided at 1170 Abbeville Ave. W., Aiken.

Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home, Aiken, is in charge of arrange­ments.

John Stanley Sexton

Stanley Sexton was born September 1, 1953 in Columbia SC,
and died October 29, 1994 in Atlanta GA.
He is buried in the Olympia Cemetery in Columbia.

Levi Isaac

Levi IsaacLevi was born March 1, 1953 and died September 15, 1994 in Washington, DC.

Aiken High History

On February 23, 1888, the Aiken Institute was incorporated by an act of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina. The school opened its doors as a high school on September 17, 1888. The first students were required to pay a small tuition to help defray the cost of running the school.
